After sharing this to Oppo, I have realized the irony of it.

I'll go with the S8s V10 because it is a Lambo V10 which means if you work slightly harder at it the S8 can sound like a boosted Gallardo.

M5, nothing like a nice high revving V10. Too bad they are now all turbos with artificial engine noises....and I work for BMW lol

M5, especially with an aftermarket exhaust.

I'd have to say the Audi sounds better. Although, that E60 M5 would be my BMW of choice if I were to buy one. I'm more than happy with my CL55 AMG for now.

As much as I love BMW I have to admit that Audi just nails their exhaust. I love the low end grunt they have. BMW however is more of a screamer as you push higher into the rev range which is nice because it isn't too loud until you want it to be.

I have to say that my father's new M6 at least doesn't have a problem with noise. When it starts up I can hear it through a door and 2 floors. And while they do have artificial noise for the people inside the people outside can DEFINITELY hear it. It speaks volumes of how well their sound deadening is one of the best. It makes a great long distance cruiser or a speed demon when you plant your right foot down. Turbos aren't bad when they propel you 0-60 in 2.8s.

I have to agree, but I'm partial. I've got an S85 (minus 20) in my garage.

I dont disagree with the sound and performance of the new turbo engines. I just think they lost the prestige of exclusivity of the engine.
Before the S85 V10 M5 and M6 are the only ones in the lineup with that engine. The engine was designed and made only for the M.
The S63 on the new Ms are just a highly tuned engine that can be found on various BMW models as the N63.
Agreed more efficient and performance. Just not as exotic as the v10 in my opinion.
